Description
This is a stylish and comfortable floating residence in the center of Amsterdam, located on the Prinsengracht, directly across from the Ann Frank House. Decorated with taste and attention by a professional interior designer. The living area is bright and shining! Spacious, comfortable and light. You have a direct view on the Prinsengracht and the landmark Westerchurch.
Two characteristic bedrooms and two full modern bathrooms in the back and front of the ship. The bedrooms ceilings are a little lower than normal ceiling height, but that is part of the history and charm of this houseboat. Both the bedrooms have two big double beds with two separate mattresses next to each other (160cm and 180 cm X 200cm) and a flat screen TV. Romantic and comfortable! Bed linen etc. is of course provided.
The outside deck
At the outside point of this former freight ship is a nice terrace with a unique view along the canal. White swans will pass by together with the canal boats. At the other side of the canal you see the Anne Frank house and the famous Westerchurch. You are in the middle of historic Amsterdam but because of the water and the impressive historic canal houses around you the atmosphere is relaxed and peaceful.
The wheelhouse however offers you the best and most exclusive possibility to enjoy the spectacular surrounding of this houseboat. The wheelhouse is reachable from the inside and is higher than the rest of the boat. In this former Captain's area is a luxury place to sit and enjoy for instance a glass of the free wine from the bar with wine fridge!

11 Aug 2019I booked this for me and a friend. I had to change the planned meeting time and it was not a problem. When I got there I called and a very nice lady met up within no time. She explained the features of the house boat in a very nice way and I was enjoying her company. The main feature of the boat when weather permits is the deck as you have a great view of all the boats cruising the canal. This is actually a great experience. The beds was ok and internally the boat is in good condition with all the features needed for longer stays. There is one bedroom in the front and one in the back with a living/dining/kitchen in between which makes it suitable for two couples travelling together. Both bedrooms has shower and toilets. The tv's was not setup so I fixed it and then of course never used it :)! This is one of the best way to live in Amsterdam if you don't need the normal hotel service.
06 Jun 2019What an amazing house boat to stay on literally in the middle of all the action. It's better than a hotel room, bigger, nice size living room, 2 full bathrooms, 1 for each bedroom. Beds crisp white sheets, beautifully decorated, easy check in and out experience. My favourite parts of the boat are the terrace as well as the captains room. Great places to sit and watch other boats and tourists walk by! Treat yourself to this one and have a nice cold glass of champagne in the captains room!
11 May 2019Located right opposite the Anne Frank museum this houseboat is really in a great location. We walked all around Amsterdam from here and had a truly magnificent long weekend. Johanna and Michele were very responsive and very helpful and friendly. We loved sitting on the decking and in the captain's cabin watching the world go by. The ceilings are only low in the bedrooms and we did all bump our heads but other than that and the clock tower that chimes day and night it was the perfect place to stay. The neighbourhood is very nice and the people friendly, we had a few people ask us about living in the boat and we believe it gave us a real taste of living in Amsterdam.
24 Jan 2019In the middle of December we booked the "Nice Houseboat"l for a five day stay, together with friends. All four of us agreed that this was the perfect place to be! We found the boat to be all and even more than we expected from the information received. On arrival Rachel showed us around and her written tips about nearby restaurants and the practical information etc. were much appreciated.
We enjoyed the very bright living room where the kitchen part had absolutely all we could need. The bathrooms were well appointed, the bedrooms were fine and the beds very good.
We learned, however, to keep our heads in a humble position as the ceilings in the bedrooms are quite low. We learned by error and it was not a problem for us.
This being december - we really appreciated the wonderful heating system! We also loved the wheelhouse where we could follow the traffic on the canal and always retreated there when coming home from long walks and sightseeing. The position of the boat is very central but was surprisingly quiet at night.
For these days the Nice Houseboat really became a home to us and we do plan on coming back!
10 Aug 2018We had an absolutely delightful time staying here. The very subtle, gentle rocking of the boat helped lull us to sleep each night and we woke up feeling refreshed and ready for the day.
Each evening we sat in the Captain's room and swans and other ducks would come visit us as we relaxed and enjoyed the views.
The location is perfect and very easy to get to regardless of your mode of transportation.
Kick, our hostess, was delightful and very helpful. She helped us find the market, get situated, meet us late, and we really appreciated her.
We would absolutely stay here again.
