My wife and I stayed here for a short time during our honeymoon and were somewhat disappointed. When we arrived and tried to get into the apartment, we were unable to open the door because it was so difficult to open. We sent a message to let the host know and she responded with, “you don’t know how to open a door?” We had to ask the neighbor for help who was very kind and mentioned to us that it has happened many times before. The tile on the floor was also raised, soft, and bent when stepped on. The drainage in the shower could be fixed as it pools up very quickly and because of no air conditioning, there was very poor air circulation. The positives of this apartment were the Eiffel Tower being so close, a comfortable bed, and nice bath tub.

I had the best stay in chalet. It is exactly as described and as shown in the photos with the highlight being the amazing balcony. The location is great - I liked being a little bit out of the centre of town but it's only about a 10 minute walk away. Amazing apartment in a perfect spot in the city! Just a walking distance from all places you might want to see in the downtown and many places to grab something to eat. The host is also wonderful - we got instructions about getting into the apartment, traveling around the city, places to leave luggage, contact information, and many more. The apartment was very tidy and spacious. The neighbourhood was peaceful, so sleeping there was undisturbed. Also, there was wifi, so that was a nice added bonus.

I spent four nights here, and it was amazing. The people were incredibly kind and friendly. There is a bar near the hostel where you can socialize and make lots of friends. Overall, we were happy with our stay. The A/C worked well, and since it was hot throughout our stay, we appreciated that. There were a couple of things that seemed cheap: the towels were terrible quality, there were only two coffee pods available when we had a 3 night stay, and anyone staying here should know that lockers at the nearby station are broken, guests will need to find something to do with their luggage since checkout is at 10 and the host is not accommodating for luggage storage. Being given suggestions for storage ahead of time would have been very helpful!

We had a fantastic stay at Mike’s home. It is located in the nine streets shopping district and close to everything. We walked everywhere! There is a wonderful grocery store right on the corner, a two minute walk, from the apartment, and multitudes of restaurants nearby. We were able to stop back at the apartment midday multiple times for a “break” and that was great. I HIGHLY recommend adding the Canal Museum to your itinerary—a block or so away and 45 minute excursion with beautiful description of Amsterdam’s canal history. There were three of us—my husband and I and our sixteen year old daughter. The bed was comfortable and our daughter was comfortable in the second bedrooms’s pull out hide-away. The jack and Jill bathroom worked out just fine and still afforded us nice privacy. The rain shower was great with reasonable water pressure. You’ll see from other reviews the stairs took a little getting used to and I would not recommend for anyone with any mobility concerns—but this is typical for canal area homes in Ámsterdam and even some restaurants. Mike had placed beautiful fresh tulips in vases through the home that really added to our enjoyment of Ámsterdam! His home has loads of wonderful character—creaky planks, tinkling radiators, and worn furniture and I loved it. Lots of big windows and lots of natural light but still lots of privacy in the midst of a busy shopping district. Outside noise really was minimal. Uber to and from the airport was simple and easy. We made a hot breakfast every morning and used the nesspresso machine but did not cook extensively in the kitchen. There is a washer, no dryer— but our clothes dried within 12 hours on the drying rack. Mike was immediately responsive when we had questions through VRBO email but also provided his cell should we have needed anything. Just a lovely experience and we would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you, Mike!!

We truly cannot say enough, this property and location (right on the canal) are exceptional. Within a two minute walk from plenty of shops, restaurants and bars and less than 5 min walk from Dam Square. Grocery is also close. And surprisingly, even with all of that access it is not loud. We had plenty of space and the movie room upstairs was a real plus. The house had everything we needed for a long three week stay. The kitchen is very well stocked, appliances are fantastic, and the living and dining rooms are comfortable and roomy. And Neal is truly a super host. His communication was exceptional from our very first point of contact up until the moment we left. He provided us with a ton of information and suggestions for the area (favorite spots, good food, shopping, etc) and even checked in on us periodically to make sure all was going well. We run seven vrbo rentals in the United States and we’re very impressed by this hosts commitment to our enjoyment, including the best restaurants to visit and those to avoid, a detailed walk thru of the home and its features, and top notch communication. Personal preferences aside, this property was the perfect location for us. Just outside the hub and noise of the centre, but close enough to walk to all the attractions and sights. 5 of us stayed, which worked out well and there is enough space. The recycling requirements was a little confusing, messaged Charlotte the host through VRBO app and she replied in good time with advice. I would definitely consider staying here again.

My only feedback is I wish there was more flexibility on checking in early or checking out late without charging extra euros. My check in time was 5p with a check out time of 11a so it was disappointing that I spent a lot of money for not even a full day. Other than that, extremely pleased with the accommodation.

Les Hirondelles has everything you need for an excellent ski holiday. The view is astonishing, the facilities in the chalet are well thought-of, and it has everything you need for a worry-free stay, including a toddler's boosting seat, a changing table and a raclette and fondue set. The only inconvenient during our stay was that workers came to replace some carpets on the stairs downstairs, making noise and using strongly-smelling substances to glue the carpets - but they were gone after we mentioned to Christophe that it bothered us. Apart from this, everything was perfect. A place to come back to.

We had a surprise situation one day with a construction project happening in close proximity. A really beautiful chalet in the middle of the mountain with fantastic views! Perfect to enjoy a few days of rest in the middle of nature! The absolute highlight for us was the hot tub!
