What our customers say
My family of 5 (including 3 kids ages 12, 13, &16) stayed at this apartment in August 2019 and really enjoyed it. It's very comfortable, and the washer/dryer were greatly appreciated. It is located in a nice spot. Quiet, but a short walk into the more popular/louder spots. The apartment was clean and as described. I found my bed to be very comfortable. My kids didn't complain, so I assume theirs were as well. I called Richard when we arrived and he gave us the code and a quick little info on the closest amenities, i.e. grocery mart around the corner. The apartment is located on the Prinsengracht (canal) that you can follow along to get to the Jordaan region. But we also walked straight through towards Centraal Station and other things located in the city center. We took a bike ride with We Bike Amsterdam into the countryside which was fantastic, despite the drenching rain that started about halfway in--I highly recommend finding a bike company and taking a tour. We also took a train ride to Haarlem for one of our days, including a trip out to Zandvoort to see the North Sea. There is a really nice bakery called Bakhuys a block or so away. We found it on our last morning, unfortunately. Overall, a really nice place to stay
The property is well-situated. It's down a quiet residential street, but it's walking distance to great restaurants, fun shops, a grocery store and all forms of transit. The rooms are a decent size, and there are good linens and towels. There's storage for clothing and luggage. The kitchen is fairly well-stocked. We did go out to get a corkscrew and a spatula and there's limited cutlery. It does have a nice Senseo coffee maker. We took advantage of the shuttle service, and it was nice to have that arranged for us. We'd recommend this to travelers who are looking for a 'home away from home'
Our group of (6) had a wonderful time staying at this property for 5 days. The owner communicated all of the information we needed ahead of time and checking in was quick and easy. The house is very spacious and has lovely interior decorating. The location couldn't have been better, as it was a quick walk to many shops/restaurants/bars/cafes and only a couple of blocks to the train. Highly recommended if you need a great place to stay with a larger group!
is a very good host, being responsive and answering our questions. The apt is in a great location, within 10-15 min walking distance of the center, which made for a quiet, perfect stay. Public transportation is within reach with the metro and trams just a few blocks away, but we ended up happily walking everywhere. We loved waking up and going to Bagels & Beans to watch the families take their kids to school on bikes, or just sit on the bench outside the apt and soak in life in Amsterdam. Our stay was memorable, fun--we all fell in love with Amsterdam. Note: at the time we stayed, the apt was in the middle of a couple of small house renovations. Richard helped us through some questions (how to turn on the lights without caps on the lightswitches) and please forgive some of the funny moments you might have with the front door knob coming off or not being able to figure out dutch dryers! Trust me, it's still very worth it to stay here... all five of us loved the place and its location, and we were so sad to leave.
Property is in a great location-quiet with beautiful views of the canal in front and hear birds each morning from the back patio. House has plenty space to share time with each other in common areas or have alone time in your rooms. Property was lovely-well decorated, beds were comfortable, plenty of hot water, and all of us had bathroom space to get ready each morning. ( Five women in my group) Location is perfect-not in the center of all the touristy arena; but an easy walk from the heart of it all. I would use this property again!
The room was located right off of a canal and there was a huge picture window to people watch and look at the canals when I couldn’t leave due to work. It’s very close to the flea market, restaurants, shops, and the main canals. The owner was very accessible by text and made me feel very welcome in his absence. I definitely recommend this place if you need a place to sleep and work!
